NYLA Library Advocacy Day
Every February, library staff travel to Albany to meet with NYS Legislators to advocate for continued library support and funding. With strength in numbers, it’s important to show up and make our voices heard.
Your voice during Library Advocacy Day matters! It benefits:
-
Every New York library and resident who depends on access to information, technology, and resources.
-
Libraries and systems that receive direct state aid to operate and grow.
-
Libraries that benefit from indirect aid through shared programs and cooperative services provided by their library systems.
-
Legislators themselves who gain a clearer understanding of how libraries strengthen communities and support their constituents.
Join us in Albany—because when we speak together, we speak louder for the future of New York’s libraries.
