WLA Slate of Officers for 2009-2010
Meet the 2009-2010 WLA President!
SHARON ROTHMAN earned her MLS
from Queens College in 1996. She began working part-time at Brooklyn
Public Library and was later employed by the Business, Science &
Technology division of Queens Library. She then became Manager of the
Children’s Room at Rye Free Reading Room. Currently, Sharon is an Adult
Services Librarian at White Plains Public Library. Her passions include
yoga and anything food-related. As an Adjunct Professor at Palmer
School of Library & Information Science, Sharon taught Diversity in
Libraries. She served on the NYLA New Members Round Table Board

SUSAN THALER earned her MLS
from the Palmer School (Long Island University) in 1997, but began her
library career in 1993 as a Technical Services Clerk at The Field
Library in Peekskill. She was named Technical Services Supervisor
there in 1997, Head of Reference and Adult Services in 1998, and
Assistant Director in 1999. In 2003 she served as an Adjunct
Professor at the Purchase College campus of the Palmer School.
Since August 2007 she has been Branch
Administrator of Yonkers Riverfront Library. She is currently
completing coursework toward an Advanced Certificate in Public Library
Administration through the Palmer School. In her spare time, she
enjoys reading (surprise!), hearing live music, and kayaking local
waterways
Secretary
ANN-MARIE CUTUL served in the
position of WLA Secretary from 2006-2008. Ann-Marie began her library
career at Pratt Institute Library in Brooklyn where she worked as an
art and architecture librarian and also authored Twentieth-Century
European Painting: a Guide to Information Sources. Since 1992 she has
been employed at the Scarsdale Public Library where she works as a
Reference Librarian and also indexes the Scarsdale Inquirer. Ann-Marie
coordinates the WLS Librarians’ Best Web Picks Committee. She has also
been active in WLA as Co-Chair of the Reference section.
Treasurer
EDWARD FALCONE began his career
with the Brooklyn Public Library before moving to Westchester in 1985.
Since then, he’s served as Director at the Field Library (Peekskill)
and the Ossining Public Library. Since 2006 he’s been the Deputy
Director of the Yonkers Public Library. Ed has a BA from Brooklyn
College, an MLS from Pratt, and an MPA from Baruch. He is an active
member of NYLA, having served as the first President of the Library
Administration & Management Section (LAMS). Ed is now the NYLA
Treasurer
