Present: Patrick Callahan, Ann-Marie Cutul, Maxine Grandison, Dulce Juarbe, and Opal Lindsay
Excused: Tim Baird, Zahra M. Baird, Diane Batemarco, Karyn DeLuca, Jodie Hopkins, James Leftwich, Srivalli Rao, Jennifer Ransom, Carolyn Reznick, Sara Rodgers, Judith Rovenger, and Ellen Tannenbaum
The meeting came to order at 10:40. President Lindsay noted that there were very few committee members present and that there was no quorum.
President’s Report:
· Lindsay reported that all appears to be in order for WLA’s December 6 Winter Social at the Azzurri Restaurant in Thornwood. The program will run 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., and local author Ben Cheever will read from his new book, Strides: Running Through History with an Unlikely Athlete, followed by a question and answering period. The Robert Trudell Public Library Education WLA Scholarship Award will also be presented. An attractive flyer has been made and distributed via WLS.
· Lindsay also reported that Rao has posted flyer to the ACRL blog and will also send it to WALDO. Rao will include the flyer with the November 1 WLA membership renewal mailing. She has contacted the Hudson Valley Chapter of SLA to post it on its agenda, as well.
Secretary’s Report:
· Cutul reported that she has received WLA’s old Newsletters, 1993-2004, kept by its editor Dale Leifeste. She has three fairly complete sets and photographs, as well, which will be kept for archival purposes.
The meeting adjourned at 11 a.m. Because of the few attendants the board meeting will be rescheduled.
